Harvard’s tuition is only slightly more than the per credit hour cost of master’s degree tuition at both Kansas University and Kansas State University resident tuition and less expensive than out-of-state tuition for either of those institutions. Some state schools’ instate tuition may be more expensive than Harvard. The value provided by Harvard’s Extension School is very good and is less expensive than any other comparable option I could find. In addition it is less expensive than a number of much less reputable schools. (University of Phoenix online tuition works out to nearly $700 per credit hour and it looks like Capella’s tuition is in the $600 per credit hour range.)
Application processes are unique to each institution; therefore it’s important to contact the university you want to apply to fully understand their application process. In general though, students usually need to be admitted to both degree programs at the same time by filling out a separate application to each. Usually there’s a cut-off date, such as your second semester at the university, to declare a dual masters program. Also, in most cases you must submit a dual masters program application in addition to both the separate degree applications. Sometimes schools require students to complete one full year of one master’s curriculum before beginning on the other masters program.
Since the Convention on the Recognition of Qualifications concerning Higher Education in the European Region in 1997 and the Bologna declaration in 1999, higher education systems in Europe are being harmonised through the Bologna process , based on a three-cycle hierarchy of degrees: Bachelor's / Licence – Master's – Doctorate , with the later addition of a "short cycle (within the first cycle)" to cover sub-bachelor's qualifications. This system is gradually replacing the two-stage system previously used in some countries, and is combined with other elements such as the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS) and the use of Diploma Supplements to make comparisons between qualifications easier.
